Portfolio (9 1/4" x 12 1/4"). 22 of 24 drawings & fold-out with title-page, colophon and foreword resting in original quarter-cloth over black paper-covered portfolio with illustrated cover plate, gold lettering and folding flaps. The drawings by Jewish artist, Abel Pann are reproduced in b/w and duo tone and show the infamous pogroms against Jews in the Ukraine & Czarist Russia in the late 1910's. The 'shocking' drawings remind modern viewers of depiction's of the Holocaust. Foreword by H. P. Chajes. Text in German. Age wear and staining on portfolio. Edges of folding flaps creased and partly chipped. Portfolio in fair, plates in overall very good condition. Incomplete with two plates missing. Bookseller Inventory #
