About this Item

Octavo in red cloth gilt titles on spine; no dust jacket; b&w illus.; 517 pp., 23 cm. In English. Series: Perspectives on the American Revolution. Abstract: "The observations made by J. Franklin Jameson in his pathbreaking study initiated a challenging and enormously productive scholarly debate regarding the nature of the Revolutionary era in American history. For more than six decades questions involving the social implications of the struggle for independence have continued to intrigue historians, and their explorations of the Revolutionary experience from the perspective Jameson suggested have produced a rich and varied literature. The essays featured in this volume demonstrate the ongoing vitality and importance of contemporary scholarship on the social character of the American Revolution." -World Cat. About very good copy. Cloth is clean and free of fraying; very light, barely noticeable sunning to edges of boards; sparse, light yellow highlights and ink throughout text (approx. 15 pages, and even on the page it's very sparse); binding slightly rolled; else excellent copy; pages are clean, crisp, and bright and free of foxing and creases (p. 213 has small bend at lower corner) and most are free of marks; binding is tight.
