Previous owner's manuscript illustration in ink on blank leaf prior to title page. The illustration depicts a coat of arms with the following motto: "Toujours la pointe au corps." Publisher's signature on verso of title. Remarkable treatise on the art of sword fencing on foot, and on horseback, written by Spanish Master Eudaldo Thomase. Illuminating the text are 16 engraved copper plates of detailed line drawings, which give a fascinating insight into early eighteenth-century fencing. Very minor shelf wear and slight and sporadic rubbing along edges of binding. Previous owner's bookplate on inside of front cover (Arvid Eriksson). Water staining to plates, not affecting images.
