Item description from seller

Limited edition, no. 171 of 200 copies. 8vo. xii, 244 pp. Publisher's green morocco, gilt lettered to the spine and upper board. Frontispiece portrait of the author plus 19 full page illustrations and 2 double page. A little light foxing to the half title, else a lovely copy. Taken from Charlemont's hitherto unpublished account of his travels in Greece and Turkey, the original manuscript now resides in the Royal Irish Academy. Necessarily an abridged version, as the editors make the case for the original being at times rambling and incoherent, passages which would always have been edited had they been contemporarily published.
