1773 First English Edition. Translated by John Reinhold Forster from the German of Baron (Johann Hermann von) Riedefel. 2 blank endpapers, Title page, 6 pages Preface, 230 pages Main Text. This work is followed by "A Journey Through Egypt" by M. Granger and which is attributed to in the Preface to "Tourtechot" (Granger's original name). This work is also translated (from the French) by J. R. Forster. Pages 241-383. Followed by 2 endpapers. This volume is bound in 3/4 brown contemporary calf with marbled boards. Gilt lettered label. The pages are clean and crisp with no foxing. There is the armorial bookplate of Sir John Smith, Baronet, F.R.S. Sydling, St. Nicholas, Dorset Slight edge-wear to the covers with small chipping to the ends of the spine. The covers are well attached with a little drying to the hinges.
