Synopsis: Sleepy Stuart, Florida provides the setting for Federal undercover agent Mack McCray to escape a mob hit in Chicago and seek refuge under the Federal Witness Protection program. He soon discovers that his haven is the focal point for a new assignment. His new handler is a feisty, red-headed female state's attorney in West Palm Beach. Intrigue, suspense, Florida history, gut-splitting Florida 'cracker' humor, drug running, secret agents and mind control experiments are linked by a single South African coin.

About the Author: Paul McElroy is president of Charter Industry Services, Inc. a firm that specializes in conducting professional maritime training courses. He founded CHARTER INDUSTRY magazine, a trade journal for professional captains in the maritime industry, in 1985 and has extensive writing experience in magazines and newspapers with more than 200 published articles to his credit.

Captain McElroy is also a fishing guide when time permits, received his first Coast Guard license in 1983 and operated a sport fishing charter business in Chicago for several years. He currently holds a United States Coast Guard Merhcant Marine Marine MASTERS license. He served in the United States Air Force and spent a two year tour in the Far East specializing in electronics and intelligence. He speaks Japanese and Spanish.

He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Florida State University. Prior to joining the maritime industry in 1981 Mr. McElroy was an executive in the headquarters of a major telecommunications corporation. He lives in south Florida with his wife Michi, is a member of the Florida Chapter of the Mystery Writers of America and the National Association of Maritime Educators. This is his first novel.
