Collation: 186, [8- index] pp. There are two blank leaves of end papers at end of book separate from new endpaper from rebinding. One of these end papers may have been for the front, but not placed there. Text is very clean.Included at the end of the text is a Postscript note (pp.180- 186), in which Knight attacks William Forsyth for thelatter’s claim to have invented a paste that would promote good health to Golden Pippin apple trees, when applied to wounded or diseased trees. Knight made this observation in his Majesty’sgardens. The extensive essay indicates that Knight wanted that no further use of any paste on wounded or disease trees to revive them and to denounce his critics who supported Forsyth’s contention on the usefulness of his paste to render trees healed and that normal growth resumed.
