Philadelphia: Printed For Benjamin Davies.1798. 8vo size book in full brown calf, red leather title panel on spine and gold stampings on the spine, a tight sound copy though upper 2" of back cover splitting, edge rubbing, some rubs to front cover, a reasonably attractive copy. 342-pages of text plus xxiv-page Index, contents tight and clean throughout, light edge dampstain to some text leaves but a minor problem; marbled endpapers present and sound, second blank front endpaper partially detached and showing wear at inner hinge. Overall an exceptionally well-preserved copy of this incredibly rare, early work on municipal policing. Bookseller Inventory #
