About the Author:

Jamaican-born Jacqueline C. Grant holds a master’s degree in Latin American history and gender studies and a Ph.D. in Caribbean history. She called Trelawney Sugar Estate home for several years. She lives with her two children, two guinea pigs, and Sox and Butter the family cat and dog in Reno, Nevada.
