An early collection of one of the first newspaper comic strip, designed for the color inserts William Randolph Hearst and other publishers were beginning to include in their Sunday papers. The Katzenjammer Kids began in 1897 and is still published today (a long string of artists have drawn the strip). These early Platinum Age comic books, bound in cardstock covers with tape spines, are very scarce. OCLC records to US holdings of this book (U. of Florida and Delaware); the only auction record is Hake's 2008. First edition (first printing). Very good in the original cardstock covers.
