About the Author:

Roy V. Lewis, Ph.D. is a U.S. Navy combat veteran from the Vietnam War. Prior to retirement, he worked 32 years as a criminal justice administrator and criminologist researcher. He worked primarily for the California Youth Authority and the California Department of Justice. Between 1997 and 2000 he managed the Statistical Data Center (SDC) of the California Department of Justice, the largest depository of criminal justice data and information in the United States at the state level. Roy has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Master’s degree in Public Administration with Phi Kappa Phi honors from the University of Southern California, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree with an emphasis on White Collar Crime. He has published six books, and is currently an avid writer on social issues of the day. He has published an editorial in the Sacramento Bee, Letters to the Editor, and an article in Sacramento News & Review. Roy also writes in his own Blog, The Reasoned Society.
