About this title

Synopsis:

Originally written in 1881. The True Life of Billy the Kid is perhaps the first book devoted to the life of Billy the Kid, having appeared in print only weeks after Pat Garrett killed the Kid at Fort Sumner, New Mexico. It may also be the rarest book written about Billy the Kid in existence. This reprint was made from the only known copy. Ramon F. Adams, the noted bibliographer of the early west, located this copy in the Boston Athenaeum. It is with their cooperation and permission that this reprint edition is published.
