About this Item

***Rare and Collectible*** A privately published work of art Large format Paperback edtion (7&1/4" x 10") Filled with fantastic photographs of Sawada's incredible streamers in full and brilliant color and detailed instructions. A bi-lingual book with side by side Japanese and English. The cover is a b&w photo of a circle of 10 of his streamer patterns. The book is in Fine condition and a very rare paperback edition. Kenichiro is a true artist in his outstanding designs and a professional photographer and instructor. Sequenced photos and instructions. Anybody whoever fishes with a fly rod and streamers, knows there is usually a large fish responding to or hooked on your line. I have had a lot of action with streamers, even in smaller streams with the proper presentation and time of day. These streamers were designed for Salmon fishing but will be effective for many types of fish, even salt water. From the Preface. "We have thousands of flies for salmon fishing today because of its long history. But in recent years, we are fond of using flies which tied on the tube body and the waddington shank. The reason why we often use such flies is that salmon takes those flies very well. Anglers much prefer the fly which can catch fish well to the fly which can't, through all ages and countries." "And another reason is that it is very easy to make them. We can imagine a full dressed salmon fly tied on a large single hook. It is beautiful enough to fascinate both anglers and fish, but it takes a lot of time even for skilled fly dresser to produce only one pattern. It is only a dresser's delight at present. For almost anglers, that fly is too good to use while fishing in the river." "Therefore, I chose 50 fly patterns here since it doesn't take long time to make them. We can cast them generously, I hope." . At present, fishing with the flies dressed on the tube body and the Waddington shank is the epoch of our fishing life." The translation for the author's Japanese is quite entertaining and esoteric. The English for the step-by-step instructions are quite clear and well constructed as are the Streamers themselves. This book is a real find and collectible. Enjoy and good fishing. Bookseller Inventory # 000513
