Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good ++. 1st Edition. 1st impression. 12.5 x 19cm, 175pp, 1pp list of The Master Science Fiction Series. Publisher's original green boards with white titles to the spine. Publisher's original dust jacket with a price of 7s 6d net at the bottom corner of the front flap. This is the first edition of this story in book form having previously been serialised in 1947, in the Toronto Star Weekly. The boards are in very good, having small bumps to the bottom fore edge corners and the bottom edge of the lower board and fore edges. The binding is very firm and square. The edges of the text block have some light spotting which extends through to the fore edge margins of the pages. Internally, there is no name, inscription or bookplate and the pages are very clean with only the occasional spot. The dust jacket which is now protected in a removable plastic cover (not shown in the images), is in at least very good++ condition. It has a 9mm closed tear at the foot of the rear panel, a crease at the bottom fore edge corner of the front panel and a tiny rubbed tear at the foot of the upper joint. In all, a super copy of a very scarce edition by the author who published The Creature From The Black Lagoon in the same year.
