Two Fires in the Night is a fictionalized account of life among the Lakota Sioux during the period from 1862 through the death of Crazy Horse in 1877. It covers the major battles of the Sioux Indian wars including the attacks on Julesburg, Ft Phil Kearny, Rosebud and the Little Big Horn from the Native American point of view.

Food shortages, disease, and political intrigue lead to the killing of Crazy Horse.
