Both volumes: 24 x 15 cm; prior owner's name in each volume, dustjackets little chipped with loss at extremities, now protected, both are good, clean, sturdy copies. 'The establishment of Calcutta University marked the beginning of higher education in India and the century covers the period from the first indications of a new national conciousness to the attainment and consolidation of freedom.'
