Etching on hand laid paper, sheet size 125 x 140 mm., platemark 118 x 129 mm., made by Pieter de Mare (1758-1796) after Christina Chalon (Amsterdam 1749-1808 Hazerswoude). Illustration for: Johannes Le Francq van Berkhey: 'Zinspelende gedigtjes, op de geestige printjes ge-etst door Pieter de Mare, na de teekeningen van mejuffrouw Christina Chalon, berustende in de verzameling van [.] H.A. Dibbets', Amsterdam: Willem van Vliet, 1793. The print (number 30) illustrates the poem on page 26. In excellent condition, with a single spot of foxing below the image.
