About this Item

Original ink sketch of Charles Mingus on a 15.5 by 13 cm nightclub 'Reserved' table card inscribed to J.C Suares dated '12/6/74'. With two page autograph letter signed from Steadman to designer/artist J.C Suares, discussing things both business and personal, including 12 drawings for a Democratic candidate, a 'beaver' book, an upcoming trip to cover the Patty Hearst trial, and his upcoming shark book. Couple of moisture stains to table card, some light handling wear to letters, else items in fine condition. J.C. Suares was the art director at Scanlan's magazine and in 1970 hired Steadman to accompany the journalist Hunter S.
