About this Item

Both of these newspapers are the complete, original four page issues in near fine condidtion with small minor defects. The first notice discusses the publication of the "Edition for the Million," a cheap edition of Uncle Tom's Cabin that "even the poorest man can procure and read the greatest production of the age." This notice also makes note of the various European editions and some of the comments of appreciation from various sources. "Over a million copies have been circulated. And yet the work has been in print less than a year!" The second notice, under the title "The Gem of the Season -- Superb Uncle Tom," describes the one-volume illustrated edition which contains 153 wood engravings. Bookseller Inventory # b25173
