The way in which the Santa Claus legend is presented to children varies so greatly:. at one extreme the the heaviky realistic, the presentation of as of an actual fact.This is really a lie and is always found out as such by children.At the other extreme, a fanciful, imaginative telling of the quaint, friendly idea of Santa Claus, as little realistic as any other fairy-story, which is litle by little assimilated by the child without shock." Signed in full in ink "Dorothy Canfield Fisher". Some tearing and chipping about the egdes and with mailing folds. Dorothy Canfield Fisher (1879-1958) was an American author of children's and other books as well as an active educational refirmer, responsible for the introduction of the Montessori method into the United States.
