The Second Infantry Training Brigade was established on 16 June 1981 with four additional battalions ans ongoing plans for a fifth battalion to assist with the increased training loud of OSUT soldiers. To provide command and control to the two Infantry Training Brigades abs the Infantry Training Group the United States Army Infantry Training Center {USAITC} was activated on 20 July 1982. Almost one year later on 25 April 1983 the United States Army Reception Station was established to receive, process, and prepare all Regular Army, U.S.Army Reserve, Army National Guard, and othe enlisted personnel and assign them to Infantry One Station Unit Training {OSUT}. From a temporary camp in 1918 to the surging military center of today, Fort Benning has and always will be 'The Home of the Infantry.' You are not part of that home."
