First edition (not stated). Unpaged - 48 pages. Hardcover: H 27.25cm x L 20cm. Blue cloth boards ("Campus Covers" by Kingskraft); front board decorated with raised title lettering and gilt stamped United States Great Seal; tearing and fraying at spine ends; short tear to cloth at rear board's top fore-edge corner; publisher/printer imprint at rear board's bottom right corner. Binding cracked between pages 2-3. Some light soiling to interior pages with top corners bumped and/or creased. Only a fair copy but a very uncommon cruisebook for OCLC cites copies at only two member institutions - the United States Naval Academy Nimitz Library and the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, Maritime Research Center - which a further search turning up another copy held by the [U.S.] Naval History and Heritage Command Navy Department Library. Reviews the wartime service of the USS Dyson and published post-war probably in very late 1945 or, more likely, in early 1946. Post-war events include images on page 4 of the ship's Presidential Unit Citation which was held on October 19, 1945 and page 44's photo of the Ship's Party held on October 29, 1945 at Washington, DC's Wardman Park Hotel. Front endpapers reproduce painting in b/w of USS Dyson under steam at sea, rear endpaper map trace the Dyson's travel in the Pacific, b/w photographs throughout (including sections titled "Officers," "Crew," and "Features"), and essay reviewing the Dyson's service on pages 5-12. Also laid-in at rear endpapers is a large foldout sheet (approx. folded dimensions H 27.75cm x L 21.5cm; unfolds to approx. H 55.75 x L 43.25 with four panels per side, i.e. eight total) "U.S.S.
