About this title

This murder mystery centers around the fashionable Belgrove Country Club. It is late in the evening. The dining area has closed. All club employees have left except the assistant manager. The BCC Poker Group has finished its monthly card game and is enjoying a light snack at the card table. Suddenly Erik Omdal, the assistant manager, appears in the doorway. He's white as a sheet. "There's a dead body in the men's locker room." Among the suspects are many of the poker players, a few important club members and several employees of Belgrove. A gossip columnist figures prominently in the story. Small town police chief, Ed Wright, puts aside his initial resentment to cooperate with Manny Goldfarb, retired big city Chief of Detectives. Manny handles and interrogates suspects in a disarming manner. The murder is linked to events occuring in Europe 40 years before. It takes a lengthy investigation to identify the victim then to pinpoint the site where the murder took place and finally to identify the individual who did it.
