Contains biographical essays of the author's experience of the beginning of the war and his time as a forced laborer in Berlin (Passover in Berlin, 1943; Assasination Attempt) ; impressions of his hometown; and includes also the authors essays and responses to events later in life (On Moshe Dayan, Elie Wiesel, Beate Klarsfeld, Amos Oz; Queens, New York) . Includes contributions from the author's wife and daughter. Mordechai Bauman was a survivor originally from Zyrardow; he was instrumental in the compilation and writing of the Yizkor for the community, Pinkes Zshirardov.
