8vo. (21 cm.) 260p. Notes and Index. Translated from the German by katherine Jones. Blue cloth with yellow-orange letters on the front cover and the spine. Rear panel of dust jacket has a large black and white photo of Theodor Reik. Very minor wear to extremities, cloth clean and bight, else near fine with no internal markings. Dust jacket spine faded, else very good and not price-clipped. Subtitle on dust jacet is as follows: A renowned psychoanalyst looks at the Unconscious of murderers and deterctives and analyzes famous American and European crimes. With a Ph.D. from Vienna University, Theodor Reik [1888-1979] was one of the earliest disciples o Freud. After serving as lecturer at the Psychoanalytic Institute in Vienna, Berlin, and the Hague, Reik became director of the Society for Psychoanalytical Psychology in New York.
