Pp. xii, 512; 83 plates (with 155 black-and-white photographs), 3 folding maps. Publisher's original green cloth, lettered in gilt on the spine and front cover, pictorial green dust jacket, sm 4to. This work presents the most detailed study ever published of the nature preserve of Udjung Kulon, a peninsula on the on the westernmost tip of Java. This monograph contains 80 detailed chapters on the flora and fauna with individual chapters are the numerous endangered species inhabiting the preserve. There are specific chapter on each mammalian species (such as the Javan rhino, the Javan tiger, and the adjag or wild dog), 2 chapters on the birds and 5 chapters on the reptiles and amphibians. Other chapters cover the topography, soils and vegetation. No ownership marks and no signs of use. A fine (new) copy in a lightly rubbed near fine dust jacket. Bookseller Inventory # 7190
