About this Item

Sq. 8vo. [32] pp. Title-vignette, 16 illus. (many in color). Original pictorial peach-colored boards, printed dust-jacket, full-color pictorial endleaves; mild rubbing, jacket is price-clipped. With number "40-80" on front inner flap. Feodor Stepanovich Rojankovsky (1891â"1970), was a Russian à migrà illustrator. He is well known both for children's book illustration. He came to America in 1941: "Rojankovsky again became a refugee with the German invasion of France in 1940, at which point he emigrated to the USA. This disruption in his life is hardly reflected in his output: he produced seven illustrated books in 1942. Over his professional career he produced more than seventy-five illustrated children's books, a half dozen of which he also wrote." His style of illustrating was imaginative with a great sense of use of color. The present volume is a very well preserved copy in the original jacket. Bookseller Inventory # G01568
