This is an "Art Memorial" Edition, following the author's death. It includes sections on how Henry Ward Beecher "sold" slaves in Plymouth Church, a bio on the life of the author, the story of the book and a key to the characters. This is the story that helped set this country on a new path. Greenish cloth with gilt lettering and black design. 542 pp. (mostly tanned/yellowed). 49 Illustrations by a "corps of the ablest artists" of the time, as noted in the book.
