About this title

Help Ohpi finish these stories

Who, or should I ask, what, is Ohpi Onion? A divinely inspired philosopher? A deluded lunatic, or maybe just another ordinary misfit like you and I. One thing I can say for sure, he writes. He wrote this book.

He is obsessed with thoughts, and he notices how they continually flow and change, like the images in a kaleidoscope. Sometimes clear and crisp, other times so vague they might take years to crystallize into something rational. That is why he writes. Writing is like an anchor for his soul. He can look back, and evaluate, as it were, how he got to where he is, mentally speaking.

He tried writing stories but found a flaw. You see, Ohpi believes a skunk cannot smell his own ass, metaphorically speaking, so most of his flaws are at best, obscure to him. However, he discovered that he cannot 'end' a story well.

This brings up an interesting aspect of this volume; he invites the reader to 'finish' them. I mean, actually, set them to paper and publish them. All he asks is his pre-approval of your additions. To do that with some degree of continuity, you need to know Ohpi, at least a little bit. The second part of this book is kind of a portal, into Ohpi's soul. It is his 'book report' on the 'Book of Books'.

If you dare to take, all of that on, and I do mean 'dare' because Ohpi has traveled many 'roads less traveled'. He has blazed trails that went to the edge of sanity. He 'pushed the envelope' in hope of finding why, as a people, we can never 'get it right'. He believes he has found the enemy, and they are us! He also believes it was worth it all because he has found the solution, the ipso facto bottom line to the meaning of life.
