Contains Benjamin Franklin's "Useful Hints for Learning to Swim ;" "Original Letter from Doctor Franklin to Miss Hubbard on the death of his brother, Mr. John Franklin." "Death of Dr. Franklin;" "Dr. Franklin's Epitaph;" and "Original Poetry. Lines on the Death of Doctor Franklin, by Mr. Lamont." Franklin died in April of 1790. The Universal Magazine was published from 1789-1792 in 8 complete volumes and ceased publication with the second number of volume 9 in 1793. A rare Irish magazine in very good condition internally.
