Synopsis: Have you ever sat down and re-read journals from your teenage and college years? That s what Janice Brabaw did. Angsty, angry, and downright cringe-worthy, the scribbled poetry made her want to toss the books in the trash and never look back. Then a second glance. Past the cliche rhyme patterns, past the hyperbolic diction, past the melodramatic voice. She discovered a collection of bittersweet, authentic poems that reflected her inner turmoil while struggling with mental illness, failed relationships, problems with friends and school, and establishing her own voice as a young writer. As a bonus, the prologue to And Again: A Memoir of a Life Disordered is also included with this compilation.
About the Author: Janice Brabaw is a 2001 graduate of the Writing Honors Program at St. Lawrence University. Shortly after leaving SLU, Brabaw moved to New York City to direct and produce her thesis screenplay, The Space Between. She is also the author of And Again: A Memoir of A Life Disordered. Currently, Janice Brabaw is a crazy cat lady in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
