8.75" x 5.75". 55pp. Sage green cloth covered hardback with gilt cover lettings in dust wrapper. Bottom spine tip is lightly bumped, light discoloration on edges, else near fine condition. The dust jacket has edge wear with a small hole in the spine obscuring part of a letter in the title with a small chip from the top of the spine, tanning and light general soiling, else VG condition. Inscribed and signed by the author on the first leaf, "For Helen Frith Stickney - in fellowship & affection - Josephine." Also signed by the author under the colophon, which states that "this book has been designed, hand set in Centaur and Arrighi types, and printed by Carroll Coleman at The Prairie Press, Iowa City, Iowa, for Contemporary Poetry, 4204 Roland Avenue, Baltimore 10, Maryland. The paper is natural flax Emissary Text. Thirty copies have been numbered and signed by the author." This copy does not bear a number. Edited by Mary Owings Miller. The frontispiece is a black and white representation of the author. Printed by Carroll Coleman at The Prairie Press in Iowa City, Iowa. See Cheever (Prairie Press checklist) 77.
