Synopsis: Cat and Mouse. Someone is going to blow up the refinery-several square miles of tanks and vessels filled with deadly chemicals and high-pressure gases. Nearly everything in the plant is explosive, and it will go up with the force of an atomic bomb. Scores of people will be killed. And the guy planning to do it is the same bastard that murdered Hannah Morrison's best friend. It's someone on the inside, someone Hannah knows-but who? He's a genius at covering his tracks, leading her down blind alleys, toying with her...letting her know he can get to her any time he wants. There's only one thing she knows for certain-if she doesn't find out who the saboteur is and stop him, she'll be the next one to die...
About the Author: Karen Hall, environmental engineer and writer, lives just outside Rapid City with her husband Jeff Nelsen and their cat, Junior, who really runs the house. A Fargo native, Karen earned a degree in English literature from the University of Minnesota and subsequently worked as an editor, lifeguard, graphics designer, marketing executive and bank teller. In search of a more permanent vocation, she went back to the South Dakota School of Mines for degrees in chemistry and chemical engineering, and spent many years working in Minnesota’s oil industry. Her first novel, Unreasonable Risk (2006), a thriller about sabotage in an oil refinery, introduced her protagonist, Hannah Morrison. Hannah’s adventures continued in Through Dark Spaces (2012), set in the hard rock gold mining industry of the Black Hills. She is currently (still) finishing a novel about infertility and is also working on the third Hannah Morrison mystery.
