Contemporary mottled calf with gilt border rulings, in a later rebacking in sympathetic calf gilt-ruled into compartments, two of which bear red leather labels lettered in gilt. Marbled page edges and endpapers. Condition: Overall Very Good. Boards and joints are rubbed, especially at the margins. Several old peels to leather. Gilt ruling partly abraded. Hinges are all very sound. Endpapers bear old gluestains at their margins. Text is very clean and bright, without foxing, greying or staining. Maps have a few very faint stains, and are otherwise clean and very bright. One plate has some very light staining at some margins, but it and the other two plates are clean and very bright, with strong impressions.
