About this Item

1st edition in the United States, very good in lime green cloth boards, black 1/4 cloth spine with gilt lettering. Very light edge wear, minor foxing, usual ex-library markings, card pocket and register on rear endpapers. Slightest of spine slant, binding solid, tight and firm, a few light stains on first few pages then inner pages clean, bright and unmarked. Pictorial dust jacket is fine+ in a soiled protective mylar cover with flaps glued to fixed endpapers. Rogue, thief, lover, poet, Francois Villon is a colorful appealing figure. In this lively biographical novel, Doris Leslie unfolds in candid detail the whole story of his wayward life, from raffish youth to romantic and adventurous manhood to his last exile and mysterious disappearence. King of the Vagabonds, French Robin Hood, Villon flurished in an era when, inequity, poverty and violence were a way of life. Bookseller Inventory # 000830
