8vo. xv, [1], 300 pp. Contemporary full cloth, spine stamped in gilt. Spine sunned, cocked, with much of cloth chipped away and remainder detached from back joint. Stitching exposed on hinges. Covers weakly holding. Ex-library, with bookplate and rubber-stamp on front pastedown; another smaller bookplate on rear pastedown. Pressure-stamps on title-page and several other pages. One leaf of preliminaries chipped at inner edge and loose in binding. Several leaves with small chips to fore-edge. Pp. 51?62 loosening from binding. Light foxing and age-toning. Scattered ink and pencil marks and underlining. Pp. 205/206 with long tear in inner margin, pp. 249/250 with tear (repaired) extending into text and affecting several letters on each page.
