Roberts, White, Sanders, Bramlet, and Boyd are botanists who have worked with southern California plants, their identification and documentation for over 20 years. Steve Boyd is the curator of the herbarium Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden at Claremont, California, and Andrew Sanders is the curator of the herbarium at the University of California, Riverside. Dave Bramlet, and Scott White have specialized in rare plant surveys and general botany in western Riverside County and other areas of southern California. Fred Roberts was the assistant curator for the Museum of Systematic Biology at the University of California, Irvine, until it was effectively shut down in 1991, and later a botanist with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
