All edges gilt. The book is in very good antiquarian condition. The gilt lettering and illustrations are impeccably well preserved and vivid. Light wear at the spine and corners. Previous owner's bookplate and sticker on the front paste-down; Gift inscription in ink on the front leaf, with some of the ink bleeding into the next few pages. The front board has a slight overbite. The contents are clean and fresh with bright illustration. A beautiful copy of this sentimental novel.
