Hardcover full cloth. In good condition, with superficial rubbing and wear to boards and cloth, primarily along edges and corners and along spine. Hinges remain in good condition and text block remains bound well. Marginalia and markings at front, including old-hand inscription from 1846. Some staining to tops of some pages. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A scarce 1st edition of one of the many travel accounts by Bayard Taylor (1825-1878), an American poet, diplomat, historian, and frequent international traveler.
