Printed in Germany. 48mo oblong (3 15/16? x 4 7/8?); [8]pp; stiff chromolithographed wrapper die-cut in the shape of a church with a bell tower, rear wrapper pictures a small wood fence with garden pergola and tree; publishers red silk ribbon binding; ?No. 2472? on title page; lithographic illustrations in gray tones throughout; decorated letters; light rubbing to bottom edge, small stain on rear wrapper; near fine. Not recorded. A small gift or novelty book of the type first made popular in the late 19th century. This booklet features a rhyming verse about longing for the comfort of the local church. The poem finishes with a quote from Psalm 100 verse 4, ?Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise.?.
