rare special edition in tan paper covers ( linen like) with copyright that states " Special Edition in paper covers" May 1904 it is a first edition thus , the first printing in hardback 1902 The Virginian by Owen Wister inscribed on blank front cover pages missing including ffep preceding title page ,Title page through page 2 loose but intact; a chip on page 484 deletes small section of the three top lines about ten words total words , and page page 503 has edge tear that effects a few words only o.w. intact and offered as a rare collectible that without the defects noted above would be in very good condition otherwise is rated fair. Rare Reads formerly operated a storefront in The Lakewood Antiques Gallery in Atlanta, Georgia but reverted to a strictly online operation when the Gallery closed. In 2006, Rare Reads published "The Heeey Baby Days of Beach Music" which received a bronze medal from The Independent Publishers Association. Long sold out, copies of the 13 pound tribute to the musicians who created the unique R&B genre are occasionally available on ABE. The book was a collaborative effort of Rare Reads and many others including the musicians that created the sound Southerns term "Beach Music." Rare Reads is considering future publications in addition to expanding its online enterprise. Rare Reads is operated by Greg Haynes and son Reid Haynes and has warehouses in Atlanta and Athens, Georgia.
