Edited by John A. Hussey, NPS historian, with extracts from the 'secret' journal give an account of California, Hawaii, and Oregon between 1813 and 1815. Among sketches included are views of the San Francisco Presidio, Monterey, and a chart of the mouth of the Columbia River for 1792.
