Small bump to top of front cover edge, else a very tight FINE copy inscribed on the half-title page in a lightly edge-rubbed FINE dust wrapper with a crease to the front flap. Part of a small group of books available from the library of Henry Kissinger, famous diplomat & political scientist. As a proponent of Realpolitik he worked with President Richard Nixon on detente with the Soviet Union, the opening to Red China & the end of the Vietnam War. This book is inscribed "For Nancy & Henry with respect and friendship, Kati Marton". Account of the Swedish special envoy to Hungary between July and December 1944 who rescued thousands of Jews from certain death in Budapest at the hands of Adolf Eichmann, only to be captured by the Soviets and reportedly murdered by the KGB in 1947, illustrated with photos.
