WALTER HART BLUMENTHAL ARCHIVE. A small collection of books, poems, handwritten letters, typewritten materials etc. by Walter Hart Blumenthal 1883 ┐ 1969), a well-published New York City writer, book dealer, editor, poet and antiquarian. Blumenthal authored many books and articles and was something of a literary and historical force in 20th century cultural life. He was fascinated by the past and made numerous contributions to understanding it by researching antiquarian topics. He specialized in Literary oddities and published numerous essays. He also fought anti-semitism. He wrote a number of books. The archive contains six pieces of ephemera (3 of which were signed, one of which is completely handwritten). Four of his books are represented in this archive: WINEPRESS, A Vintage of Verse. VG. Inscribed in 1925 (apparently to family). Drawings by Leo Kober. Decorative binding. Scarce.
