Former owner's inscription on the end paper. About very good. A history of Western Africa, describing the scenery, inhabitants, geography, government, the slave trade, and more. The author was a missionary in the area for nearly twenty years, during which time he rendered several local languages into writing, producing both grammars and translations of the gospels.
