De Fellenberg was a follower of Pestalozzi and some say this book was written by Prestalozzi. 12mo., 105pp., original green cloth hardcover with mounted paper spine label. Interesting pencil inscription on front blank: 'Presented by Lady Byron to R. Bartlett.' Annabella, Lady Noel-Byron, the daughter of Lord Byron, together with Jeremy Bentham, were the two leading English exponents of education for the impoverished in the early nineteenth century.
