About this title
For five years American photographer Nubar Alexanian accompanied twenty-five committed artists, hanging out with them backstage, joining them on tour buses and in teaching seminars, and getting to know them as performers and as people. He joined Paul Simon in rehearsal, travelled to India with Phillip Glass, toured Europe with Emmylou Harris and spent weeks at music workshops hosted by Wynton Marsalis. He photographed gospel choirs, rock bands and classical orchestras, the famous and the not so famous in his search to describe visually what drives musicians to produce the music that amazes and stimulates us.
