Book Description The John C. Winston Company, Philadelphia, 1937. Original Blue Cloth Hardback. Book Condition: Very Good. Presumed First Ediiton. No stated date c1937. Possible first edition. xiv, 399 pp., numerous black and white illustrations and a map on the endpapers. This is a narrative of a journey by airplane through eastern Asia, taking in Japan, China, Indochina, Siam, and Malaya. While it is primarily intended as a geographical reader for children, it is likely to be of almost equal interest to their parents. Although it is not primarily a book of travel or adventure, there is much in it to interest those who like to travel vicariously through foreign lands and note the strange contrasts of men and women and their ways of living. It is bound in blue boards with gold titling on the spine and front board and a wonderful silver illustration of a 1930s aeroplane on the front board. In very good condition with some shelf wear and a little damp spotting on the boards. The spine ends are bumped and the spine is faded. The contents are tight and clean with slight browning to the pages. A name is written on the top edge of the front fixed endpaper. Size: 8.6"Tall. Bookseller Inventory # Net0674
