Description:

Vintage original 8 x 14" (20 x 35 cm.) mini-window/midget card, USA. Helen Twelvetrees, Victor Jory, Wallace Ford, Claire Dodd, Hobart Cavanaugh, dir: Victor Schertzinger; Columbia. Pre-Code title about a self-sacrificing woman who helps her husband to become successful, at the price of him becoming swell-headed and she suffering unhappiness -- the perfect plot of what was then referred to as a "woman's picture." This time, Twelvetrees, forever cast as the wistful, fragile and suffering heroine, was required to sing and dance as well. The husband was played by Wallace Ford, but character actor Victor Jory was cast as the romantic rival and here, in a role against type, he is presented on the poster with Twelvetrees. There is some marginal staining, NEAR FINE. Bookseller Inventory # 10009
