About this Item

Folio (41 cm.) 72p. Profusely illustrated with black and white captioned photos and drawings, as well as very many period ads. Stapled booklet in color pictorial wrappers. The front wrapper has a round vignette of a young woman kneeling in a white dress with a peacock fully spread in the background and with the round surrounded by white roses, the art work of Blanche Greer. This is a "Ten Story Number" with ten pieces of recent fiction, almost all by women. Wrappers lightly soiled, spine shows some rubbing, leading edge slightly worn and just barely beginning to turn up at the corners, staples show some rust, else very good to near fine--all in all in exceptional condition for a piece so old and fragile. Writers whose stories are featured include the following: Maude Radford Warren (illustrated by N.C. Wyeth), Cyrus Townsend Brady (illustrated by F.C. Yohn), Marion Hamilton Carter (illustrated by Irma Deremeaux), Mary Hastings (illus. by Robert Edwards), Ernestine Winchell (illus. by W.B. King), Georgia Wood Pangborn (illus. by W.R. Leigh), Frederick M. Smith (illus. by John Cecil Clay), Marion Hill, Annie Hamilton Donnell (illus. by M.J. Spero), and Rosa Naomi Scott. Other articles include the following: "Marriage As A Business Proposition", "Vacations", "The Home Wedding", "Veranda Furniture" (including plans), "Two Inexpensive Bungalows" (with plans), "The Wedding March" by Margaret E. Sangster, "Sam Loyd's Own Puzzle Page", "The Ice-Box and Its Care" by Virginia Terhune Van De Water, "Clothes for Outdoor Sports" by Grace Margaret Gould, and much, much more.
